My Tattoo Story
I never thought I would get a tattoo. I was always the good girl, the one who followed the rules and did what was expected of me. But when I turned 18, I decided to rebel. Just a little. I got a small tattoo on my ankle. It was a butterfly, my favorite insect. Now, 10 years later, that butterfly has been joined by two others, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to ink my skin.

What inspired you to get this tattoo
When it comes to tattoos, everyone has their own unique story about why they got inked. For some, it’s a way to remember a loved one or an important life event. For others, it’s a form of self-expression or simply a cool design they saw and liked.
But what inspired me to get my most recent tattoo was something a little different: a book. Specifically, the book “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson.
I’ve always been fascinated by tattoos and body art, but this book took it to a whole new level. The story follows a brilliant but troubled young woman named Lisbeth Salander who uses her body as a canvas for her rage and pain. She’s fearless, unapologetic, and completely badass – everything I aspire to be.
So when I finished the book, I knew I had to get a tattoo in honor of Lisbeth. I found an amazing artist who did an incredible job translating my idea into reality, and now I have a permanent reminder of one of my favorite characters (and books) of all time.

What made you choose this particular design and placement for your tattoo
I’ve always loved dolphins and wanted a tattoo that would reflect that. I considered a few different designs and placement options before finally deciding on this one. I love how it turned out and am so happy with my decision!
How long did it take to get the tattoo done

Was it painful
No, the biopsy was not painful. The doctor numbed the area with a local anesthetic before performing the procedure. I only felt a little pressure during the biopsy.
How often do you need to get it touched up

Just make sure that you take the time to think about what you want, where you want it, and how much you’re willing to spend. Once you have all of that figured out, go for it! You might just find that it’s one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.
What do people think of your tattoo
Some people love my tattoo, while others find it a bit too edgy. I think it’s a great conversation starter, and it always gets people talking. I got it when I was 18, and it’s been with me ever since. It’s definitely a part of my identity.
Do you have any other tattoos
Yes! I actually have quite a few tattoos. I have a small rose on my left wrist, a quote from Alice in Wonderland on my right forearm, a cat on my left shoulder, and a dragonfly on my right ankle. I really love all of my tattoos and they all have special meaning to me.
Would you recommend getting a tattoo to others
There is no right or wrong answer to this question, as it is a personal decision. Some people choose to get tattoos because they express their personality or are a tribute to someone important in their life. Others may find them painful or simply do not like the idea of permanency. Ultimately, the choice to get a tattoo or not is up to the individual.
